There are no optimal or universal strategies that could be recommended to companies in specific conditions. Strategic management is an area of management in which the creativity of top managers is the most important. The purpose of this paper is to present the complexity of strategic management using the concept of paradox. The article consists of four parts, followed by some final remarks. The first part presents the position of strategic management as a sub-discipline of management. The second part describes the notion of a paradox by means of the Confucian philosophical concept of yin and yang. The third part explains strategic management as a set of paradoxes. Finally, the fourth part formulates the concept of a multidimensional space of strategic paradoxes.
