Bariery i szanse marek międzynarodowych w Omanie: między tradycyjnym rynkiem souq a centrum handlowym

Sułtanat Omanu jest rynkiem wschodzącym o stosunkowo wysokim PKB, jednak dopiero po 2012 zaczęły się tam rozwijać nowoczesne centra handlowe, dając możliwość wejścia na rynek wielu markom międzynarodowym. W artykule przedstawiono, w jaki sposób powolny rozwój handlu detalicznego i przywiązanie do tradycyjnych form handlu, jak souq czy małe sklepy, przez lata były barierami wejścia dla marek międzynarodowych. W opracowaniu poddano analizie zmiany struktury handlu po roku 1970 i opisano główne przyczyny ekonomiczne, społeczne i kulturowe tych zmian. Przedmiotem analizy jest handel w stolicy Maskacie, która jest najważniejszym i zarazem reprezentatywnym ośrodkiem handlu sułtanatu.
