Abstrakt

Głównym celem artykułu jest ocena znaczenia zjawiska przeciążenia informacyjnego w kontekście menedżerskiego podejmowania decyzji strategicznych oraz zbadanie przydatności znanych teorii podejmowania decyzji w warunkach przeciążenia informacyjnego. Rozważania w pracy mają charakter koncepcyjny. W pierwszej części artykułu przybliżono istotę i przyczyny przeciążenia informacyjnego. W kolejnej części skoncentrowano się na wynikach badań uzyskanych w różnych dyscyplinach nauk dotyczących problemu przeciążenia informacyjnego, a przede wszystkim jego wpływu na podejmowane decyzje. W dalszej części wskazano najważniejsze teorie podejmowania decyzji. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na teorię H. Simona. Ostatnim problemem podjętym w artykule są nurty opisujące sposoby potencjalnego reagowania menedżerów na stan przeciążenia informacyjnego.
