Działalność rolna prowadzona w warunkach ryzyka jest często wspiera-na poprzez różnorodne działania państwa, m.in. poprzez dofinansowanie ubezpieczeń upraw. Federalny system ubezpieczeń upraw w USA jest jednym z najbardziej rozbudowanych na świecie. Jednocześnie zmiany w polityce rolnej w 2014 r. wzmacniają jeszcze rolę ubezpieczeń. W artykule przeanalizowano sytuację ubezpieczeń upraw w USA przed reformą z 2014 r. oraz zmiany w ubezpieczeniach w efekcie uchwalenia zasad nowej polityki rolnej.
