Déterminants des dépenses publiques de santé en Afrique subsaharienne

Résumé

L'objectif de ce papier est d'analyser les déterminants des dépenses publiques de santé en Afrique subsaharienne. A cet effet, un modèle de panel dynamique a été utilisé pour un échantillon de 32 pays d'Afrique subsaharienne couvrant la période 2009 à 2018 subdivisé ensuite en quatre sous-groupes pour une analyse approfondie. L'estimation du modèle à effet fixe et l'approche par l'estimateur SGMM ont été utilisés pour obtenir les résultats dans le contexte africain. Cependant, l'estimateur LSDV-corrigé a été utilisé pour les résultats concernant les différentes régions. Les résultats issus des estimations montrent que les dépenses publiques de santé sont principalement influencées positivement par le produit intérieur brut, les politiques qui visent à améliorer l'état de santé de la population telle que mesurée par les taux de mortalité infantile et infanto-juvénile, la proportion de la population de moins de 15 ans et la densité de la population en milieu rural.
