Abstract

The article is aimed at analyzing the quantity and quality of human capital in Poland as compared with the United States and other countries in the framework of the recent model by Manuelli and Seshadri. A description of the model is given. The analyzed quantities are: the stock of human capital, expenditures and time allocated to human capital formation, the wage rate per unit of human capital (a measure of the quality of human capital which is a central concept of the model) and GDP p.c. Possible modifications of the model have been suggested. (original abstract)
