Effet de l’autonomisation de la femme sur la violence conjugale au Tchad à partir de données EDS-MICS, 2014–2015

L’objectif: Cet article étudie l’effet de l’autonomisation de la femme sur la violence conjugale au Tchad.
Conception/méthodologie/approche: Le modèle probit binaire est utilisé pour analyser l’effet de l’autonomisation dans ses différentes dimensions mais aussi globalement. Les analyses se sont basées sur des données d’enquêtes démographiques de santé et à indicateurs multiples collectées par INSEED en entre 2014-2015.
Résultats: L’analyse montre que l’autonomisation de la femme affecte positivement la violence conjugale au Tchad. Une femme exprimant son désaccord face à la violence, participant au processus de prise de décision au sein du ménage, ayant l’autonomie économique et l’indépendance sociale, a 4,01% et 10,4% de chances supplémentaires de subir de violence conjugale respectivement pour un niveau d’autonomie moyen et élevé par rapport à un niveau d’autonomie faible. Il faudrait donc renforcer la sensibilisation pour que le processus d’autonomisation des femmes profite à la société Tchadienne.
Originalité/valeur : L’autonomisation joue un rôle substantiel dans l’accomplissement des femmes mais très peu d’études ont concerné le Tchad. Ce faisant, L’étude contribue de manière significative à la littérature à travers cette première tentative empirique de compréhension de l’effet de l’autonomisation de la femme sur la violence conjugale au Tchad en tenant compte de diverses dimensions de l’autonomisation. Elle décompose la violence conjugale en plusieurs formes et adope l’approche des quartiles en regroupant les facteurs par dimension afin d’établir le niveau d’autonomisation de la femme avant leurs liaisons avec les différentes formes de la violence conjugale.
